News Round-Up

Plymouth have resigned defender Stephane Zubar on a two year deal. He is the only out of contract player at Home Park to be offered a new contract. Swindon have signed Algerian striker Mehdi Kerrouche on a two year deal. The 25 year old French born forward makes Swindon his seventh different club in seven different countries in the last five years.

Leon Constantine has been released from his trial at Barnet after failing to impress boss Lawrie Sanchez. Plymouth's Supporters Trust has written to the Football League and club Administrator urging them to consider their 'rescue plan' bid. Supporters believe the current bid that will see the club sold to Peter Ridsdale will fail.

At a fans forum last night Grimsby confirmed they lost over £900,000 last season and expect to lose a similar amount this term. Burton are trialling Frenchman Bertrand Bossu as they try to resolve their keeper search. Crawley have confirmed the sale of winger James Dance to Luton for an undisclosed fee.

Oxford were one of eight clubs mentioned in last night's Channel 4 Dispatches programme entitled 'How to buy a Football Club'. The programme trailed a far-east based ground seeking to circumvent League rules on club ownership. Southend are reported to have cooled their interest in trialist Rohan Ricketts, with the player confirming talks with Stevenage.

Crawley boss Steve Evans and assistant Paul Raynor have signed new three year deals with the club. Their coaching staff have also agreed new two year contracts. Plymouth are to sign Norwich winger Luke Daley on loan, and sign free agent defender Ladji Soukouna. Daley, 21, spent six months last term at Stevenage, making just two sub appearances, while 20 year old Soukouna was released by a French third division side.
