Northampton have cancelled a deal to sign Stockport midfielder Paul Turnbull after the Hatters changed the terms of the transfer fee. Plymouth's Administrator has announced that the final sale of the club has been agreed with the Irish consortium bidding for the club. Plans for the sale have now been submitted for Football League approval.
Bristol Rovers have confirmed talks with veteran striker Jamie Cureton. The 35 year old scored 20 goals for Exeter last term but is out of contract and has stalled on a new deal at St James Park. Former Cheltenham striker Damian Spencer is keen to talk to the club over a return to Whaddon Road. The big forward was released by Aldershot earlier in the summer after an injury plagued season.
Swindon are the latest side to pull out of a reserve league for the coming season. The Robins have offered veteran Italian defender Alberto Comazzi a deal at the County Ground. The 32 year old is currently plying his trade in the Italian regional leagues after starting his career at AC Milan. Both Preston and Sheff Utd are to seek talks with the Football League over the new salary cap in League One with both concerned they will easily breach the rules with their existing Championship level wage deals.
Crawley are reported to have lodged a bid for out-of-contract Inverness striker Adam Rooney. He scored 22 goals for Thistle last term, and has previously worked with current Crawley coach Craig Brewster. Dagenham have accepted a bid from an unnamed Championship side for winger Danny Green according to Sky Sports. The Daggers had previously rejected bids from Charlton and Peterboro.
Bradford coach David Wetherall has left the club after 12 years to take up the post of Head of Youth Development with the Football League. In his new role Wetherall will be responsible for overseeing the Academies and Centres of Excellence at FL clubs. Dagenham have signed Chelmsford striker Rob Edmans for a five figure fee. At a fans forum Stockport told fans their squad budget would be £500-600,000 this season rather than the £400,000 suggested earlier in the year.
