Shrewsbury have sold striker Matt Harrold to Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee. THe 26 year old scored nine goals for the Shrews last season, and has signed a two year deal at the Memorial Ground after being told he was not in Graham Turner's plans for the new season. Burton's pre-season plans have been disrupted after new Nottm Forest manager Steve McLaren cancelled all their pre-season fixtures, including a trip to the Pirelli.

Swindon midfielder Lescinel Jean-Francois is set to reject the club's offer of a new deal and join up with former boss Danny Wilson at Sheff Utd. The 24 year old would not cost the Blades a fee. Rotherham are expected to lose forward Ryan Taylor with either Bristol City or Millwall likely to win the chase for his signature.

Cambridge have released player-assistant manager Paul Carden by mutual consent. The 32 year old ended last season on loan at Luton, and leaves the Abbey Stadium due to their financial problems. The 22 year old Irishman played 31 times on loan for the Bees last season and is reported to have rejected a move to Shrewsbury. Bristol Rovers have signed Lincoln winger Mustafa Carayol on a two year deal. The former Torquay man has cost the Pirates an undisclosed fee.

Port Vale have announced that Micky Adams will join the club's board after receiving the necessary support from shareholders. He has also passed the Football League's fit and proper person test.
