The Million Pennies Day due to have taken place at Edgar Street on Saturday July 9th has been postponed.
The decision has been taken as the organisers don't think they will have reached their target in time.
However Hereford United have agreed to continue to back the idea and the 'day' should go ahead in due time.
The Million Pennies Campaign was set up following a meeting of maths teachers from Herefordshire Primary Schools led by Will Davies from Burghill.
The idea is for the children to collect as many pennies as possible and then lay then side by side on the Edgar Street pitch.
The money raised will be split between St. Michael’s Hospice, Hereford and a forces charity The Operational Casualties Fund.
