Facey yet to sign for Bulls

As at late this afternoon, Hereford United haven't signed Delroy Facey or any other striker. That doesn't imply the club haven't been in talks with strikers, but does confirm that until a player puts pen to paper, any signing will not be announced by the club.

Asked by BN if the club had signed any striker so far, Tim Russon was guarded.

"No not yet," said the Hereford United vice-chairman.

"This time of year you talk to lots of people, have lots of plans."

Asked if there was anything in the rumours about Delroy Facey coming to Hereford, Russon replied 'I think they are correct'.

"It is only right and proper for us to say that somebody has signed when they have signed on the dotted line. Anything could happen in football as we've seen. People can change their mind at the last minute.

"Jamie is in charge of the team and Jamie is the man that will say right I've signed this player or that player.

"At the end of the season we said to Jamie go away. He knew he had a budget, it's his team, it's for him to bolt the team together.

"He will come and tell us when he wants somebody to sign or draw up a contract."

Russon did confirm that former Oldham striker Lewis Alessandra had been to Edgar Street last week for talks.

As regards both Janos Kovacs and Sean Canham, both are expected to report for training next Wednesday along with the rest of the squad.

Kovacs has been training in Hungary recently.

"Well he's due back next Wednesday," said Russon. "He's still our player!

"Canham and Kovacs are on the transfer list but they are still our players.

"Jamie has an idea of his team and neither figure in his plans. They know where they stand."
