Edgar Street looks in prime condition after being reseeded in places by Hereford United fan Ian Prichard and his Mowtech company.
"We're absolutely thrilled with it," said Bulls vice-chairman Tim Russon.
"One of the best signings we've made recently is a new groundsman. He's a Hereford fan, Ian Prichard. He loves the job.
"He takes so much tender loving care of it. I think he's sleeping here.
"Every time I come he is here on his mower and looking around now, I think we've got another month before the first friendly against Birmingham, I know it won't be Wembley but this is beautiful.
"One of the major problems we had when I arrived was rabbits on the pitch. They would dig up bits of the pitch, so Paul, our stadium guy, has spent a lot of time filling up every single rabbit hole.
"So now if you're a rabbit you have to be able to jump three foot in the air to get over the boundary wall to dig the pitch."
Meanwhile there's a new 'striker' at Edgar Street but it's unlikely he will score many, if any goals. Currently he is in the middle of the pitch trying to keep the birds off the grass.
"The new striker doesn't move a lot, he's a bit static, people say he hasn't got much pace.
"But if Adam Bartlett can plant a goal kick on his head he could knock it on and Fleets could run through and score!"
