Sampson In 'Total Shock'

Speaking to their official site, Northampton boss Iam Sampson was in 'total shock' as his side's capitulation this afternoon.

"It was a poor second half performance and I'm in total shock. We've let everyone down today and I'm lost for words as to how we can play so well in the first half and then so badly in the second half.

"The second half is a bit of a blur to me and everything we said to the players at half-time they did the total opposite. In the first half we went fairly direct and it worked but we told the players to do the same again in the second half but they just didn't do it.

"The players let themselves down badly in the second half but what was said in the dressing room should remain between me and the players. We're going through a difficult time and the pressure is on us big time at the moment but we need to stick together, keep working hard and hopefully things will turn for us.

"We need to sort things out quickly and I am concerned about the mental strength of the players and the team.
