Care-taker manager Jamie Pitman was delighted with the performance of his players this afternoon.
"They've been superb today every single one of them, they've put in a really good performance," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"They've stuck together against a very good Port Vale side who put us under a lot of pressure."
Sean Canham scored Hereford's goal but was later sent off.
"He assured us he has won the ball. I think it's a little bit harsh to send him off.
"There were a lot of bodies around there."
Hereford were given a penalty when Dominic Werling was fouled but no-one was carded.
"You look at some consistancy," said Pitman.
Guillem Bauza was judged to be man of the match.
"He was absolutely superb especially after missing the penalty. He put in so much work and effort. I'd love for one his goal scoring chances to have gone in.
"We've had two great chances. With ten men to be able to create chances where the goalkeeper is pulling off very good saves is credit to every single one of them."
