Lincoln City have named Steve Tilson as their new manager on a two and a half year deal.
Tilson, 44, spent seven years at the helm of Southend until being put on gardening leave by the Shrimpers in early July. Despite claims to the contrary by the club, Tilson maintained that they hadn't paid him since. He spent a total of 18 years at Roots Hall as a player, coach, and manager. His stint as manager saw them rise from League Two to the Championship, and back again as their overspending led to a series of financial crises.
Assistant boss Paul Brush, a regular fixture alongside Tilson at Southend until he was sacked by chairman Ron Martin with two months of last season remaining, also joins the Imps with the pair taking up their duties on Monday.
