Former Bulls coach and player Bobby Gould has released his autobiography "24 Carat Gould".
The well travelled 64 year old ended his playing career at Edgar Street in 1979 after signing on as player-coach for manager Mike Bailey. In his book, Gould mentions his stint at the Bulls:
Mike Bailey was by now Hereford's manager after returning from a playing stint in the USA and had an ace up his sleeve when he dangled the job as player and assistant manager at Edgar Street before my eyes. For the first time in my life, I was being offered a club car. I was immediately tempted, the fee already agreed at £10,000.
I took it – the job and the Renault – but the irony was that I broke down on the way to Cardiff on one of my first scouting assignments. It was the only time I set off for a match and didn't make it.
