News Round Up

Shrewsbury are claimed by Oldham to have rejected a request for the two club's Johnstones Paint Trophy tie at Boundary Park to be free admission. The Latics have home games either side of the match, but the Shrews are said to have rejected the suggestion as they wanted their cut of the gate. Port Vale say they are in talks with another potential set of investors in addition to the Mike Newton offer.

Bournemouth have paid off the last of the debts of the old club. They were forced by the Football League to pay a percentage of the unsecured debt when the club was reformed, earning a hefty points penalty in the process, but have now made the final payment. Lincoln have agreed a fee with Torquay for winger Mustafa Carayol. The Gulls say the fee is £35,000 with a further sell-on clause.

The Guardian's investigators have looked into Yeovil's moves to seperate the club and ground into two seperate companies. Shareholders are being asked to vote on the proposal without knowing any of the financial details, and both the paper and fans groups have been refused answers. Majority shareholders John Fry and Norman Hayward will push the move through regardless, with them also holding majority holdings in the proposed stadium company.

Dagenham have remained silent over striker Josh Scott, who was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of GBH after a woman was glassed in a nightclub. He is out on bail pending further investigations. Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has said he is over budget and cannot bring in any new players. He wants to trim his 28 man squad but cannot let any go due to their injury problems.

Northampton boss Ian Sampson says he has asked the board for a bigger wage budget to bring in two players. His side haven't scored in either of their League Two games this season. Crewe have offered midfielder Lewis Short a one year contract after a trial. The 20 year old has been playing for Congleton Town in the North West Counties League.
