Former Hereford United shot-stopper Wayne 'Superman' Brown has held talks with Wrexham over a possible move to the Blue Square Premier outfit. Brown is a free agent having been released by Bury this summer and has been interesting Dean Saunders in recent weeks, although the move appears to be up in the air.
"I am still trying to sort out a deal to sign Wayne, but he might be out of our price range. I thought I had got him and it's still ongoing, but I might have to look elsewhere", commented Saunders when speaking to The Leader.
Brown initially joined Hereford on loan from Chester City for the 2005/2006 season, making the number one jersey his own. In his three year spell, he won two promotions with the Bulls before joining Bury citing the two year contract offered and location as his reasons for dropping down a league.
Meanwhile Morecambe's new ground opening has been delayed, forcing them to cancel three prestigious home friendlies. They were due to open the ground in two weeks but games against Bolton, Man City, and Preston have all be cancelled with the stadium now not due to open until August 6th, with Coventry visiting the ground first four days later in the Carling Cup.
