Stockport have named Paul Simpson as their new manager.
The former Carlisle, Preston, and Shrewsbury boss joins the club with just a handful of players, no firm pre-season plans, and a vastly reduced budget.
He will be assisted by current County coaches Peter Ward and Alan Lord, who have been taking pre-season training so far.
Simpson told the BBC his playing budget 'is not a massive budget' and that he will have to phone other local clubs and 'ask for favours' to assemble a squad.
