Sam Malsom - Profile

Here is a profile of Sam Malson, Hereford's new striker.

Malsom, born 10th November 1987 is a 22 year old striker who started his career at Torquay United, before eventually joining Plymouth Argyle at the age of 16 following the closure of the Plainmoor outfit's Centre of Excellence. Despite being a prolific goalscorer at youth and reserve level, he never made the breakthrough into the first-team at Home Park.

A large number of trials, and short stints followed his release from Argyle, including a fairly successful trial at Aldershot but for one reason or another, manager Gary Waddock decided against signing him. He joined B36 in the Faroe league, playing in the UEFA Cup against Danish giants Brondby, and generally impressing during his time in the Faroe Islands. Last season Malsom played in Iceland for FC Throttur Reykjavick, before a brief spell with Ian Foster's Dundalk in Ireland and ending the season with Tiverton.

Malsom signed for Hereford on July 15th 2010.
