BN recently mentioned that former player Arnie White had died.
Ron Parrott, the Hereford United historian, has a little more information about White who was born 25th July 1924.
I don't think he will be remembered by many because he was with Hereford United for such a short time. He played just 6 first-team games during the 1953/4 season, 4 in the Southern League and 2 in the Southern League Cup, scoring one Southern League against Cheltenham Town.
Inside-left Arnie, joined Bristol City from local club Sandwell in March 1947 and spent five years at Ashton Gate, making 82 Football League appearances and scoring 12 goals. He moved on to Millwall in August 1951 and spent two seasons at the Den, adding a further 14 league appearances before signing for Hereford in July 1953. Arnie made only six appearances for United, scoring just once, before being transferred to Chippenham Town in October 1953.
