Notts County face being wound up over a tax debt that current owners Munto Finance inherited, according to The Guardian.
The taxman has brought the action after the sum, believed to be around £400,000, was left unpaid following the summer takeover where Munto assured supporters the matter would be dealt with swiftly. The taxman began proceedings on September 25th, with a court date set for November 18th.
The Supporters Trust handed over the club, in the form of parent company Blenheim 1862, to Munto and wrote off £400,000 in loans on the belief the tax debt would be settled. The club have refused to comment to the paper. Update: The club have told the BBC they have lodged the money with the courts, and expect the matter to be resolved.
Meanwhile Martin Allen will not face criminal charges of the incident that saw him suspended from his managerial job at Cheltenham. A Police statement concludes: "The alleged victim made no formal complaint and the decision has now been made to take no further action." Cheltenham themselves are yet to make a decision on his future.
