Graham Turner must have thought his players would have performed better this afternoon against Colchester, especially as contracts could be offered to some of them, but it was not to be.
"I think the first goal killed us off," Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We have conceded some stupid goals and you can't afford to give free kicks in those sorts of areas.
"I think there is a lot for the individual players to play for as well as proving they are good enough to be professional footballers at this level.
"I didn't want to finish bottom of the table. It's a depressing state at the moment. We've lost confidence. We've lost that little bit of energy. We've lost the sharpness and that's the result today."
