Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that he takes full responsibilty for the relegation of Hereford United out of League One.
In his weekly column in the paper he reiterates all the problems of this season particularily the injury situation and the, in general, disappointing impact of loan players.
"I am writing this column in the early hours of Tuesday morning. a sleepness night has followed our defeat at Prenton Park.
"Memories of a great achievement, the joy and pride on everyone's faces as we celebrated promotion just 11 months ago, is painful to recall."
He then reflects on the season and repeats his view about the challenge of playing in League One.
"I would not have changed the comfort zone (of League Two) for the experience of competing against the likes of Leeds and Leicester."
So what about next season?
"Clubs who are relegated can often go one of two ways, having tasted the higher life they are galvanised into fighting back and competing again for promotion or, alternatively, the air of depresion continues and further struggles prefail.
"We must now ensure that the way is paved for us to fight back from the trials and tribulations of this season. The fact that financially we are stable may well give us an advantage over some of our rivals when competing for players."
Turner then assesses his own role in the past season and admits he would like to be able to turn the clock back to the start of life in League One.
"I have undoubtedly made some bad decisions - especially where player recruitment has been concerned.
"I therefore take full responsibility for our plight and personally offer my sincerest apologies to all like me started the season with such high hopes. In particular those who have followed us the length and breadth of the country."
Whilst he doesn't say anything specific about changes at the club, Turner ends with a promise.
"Over the next week or two, everything about the club will be re-examined and assessed, some very big decisions will need to be made before the season ends.
"The only consideration will be what is best for the club."
