There is money to be made catering for football supporters if the recently announced deal for Cardiff City's new stadium is anything to go by.
The Compass Group, who have the catering contracts at Goodwood and the Millenium Stadium amidst other establishments, have just agreed a deal to start next season at Cardiff's brand new stadium.
They have won a £48m turnover deal to cater at the new Cardiff City Stadium, which will be home to Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Blues rugby club.
The ten-year deal will see Compass operate all match day and non-match day catering and events at the stadium when it opens in July 2009.
The scope of the contract includes food and beverages for 150 metres of public kiosks, 14 private hospitality boxes, two restaurants, a banqueting suite and a chairman's lounge.
Compass also sell non-match day activities, such as conferences and exhibitions, through its Lime Valley Portfolio.
Lindley Catering have the contract at Edgar Street.
