It's never dull at Bournemouth. The club revealed this morning that they were owed £50,000 by Southampton as a payment for former youth player Matt Paterson making his tenth appearance for their first team. The money is apparently being held up by the League.
Cherries owner Paul Baker, hoping to sell the club before their weekend match with his beloved Chester to avoid a potential conflict of interest, has issued a statement saying that he has accepted three seperate offers from the prospective bidders - and all three offers have subsequently been withdrawn. Their latest offer is for £0, down slightly from their last bid of £60,000 for the club. Baker has responded with a counter offer of £60,000 if they stay up, and £0 if they are relegated.
Oldham have offered Joe Royle the manager's job for next season. Since taking over from John Sheridan the veteran boss has only three points from six matches with their play-off hopes over. Hartlepool boss Chris Turner doesn't know who will be in charge at the club next season, but they hope to keep Norwegian striker Rune Lange at the club next season after scoring once in three games at the club.
Accrington boss John Coleman and assistant Jimmy Bell have been granted a testimonial after ten years each at the club. Coleman has warned the club could go bust, blaming fans that are deserting the club 'hand over fist'. To top off their troubles, Weymouth have suffered a break in at their ground. £600 of damage was caused and the thieves got away with £200 in cash. They also ransacked offices, opening and throwing every file of financial paperwork around the office. The club are now doing a full audit to see if any sensitive paperwork is missing.
