Ex-Bull Gould Takes Charge Of Weymouth

Former Bulls forward Bobby Gould has taken charge of Weymouth.

The 62 year old will take charge after Alan Lewer was sacked following yesterday's loss to already relegated Lewes. Ex-Bull Marcus Browning, who Gould capped for Wales during his time there as manager, will continue in his assistant role.

Gould spent just over a year at Edgar Street as player-coach after joining from Bristol Rovers for £10,000, scoring 13 goals in 45 matches. He ended his Bulls spell in late 1979 to become assistant boss at Chelsea, and then managed a string of sides including Bristol Rovers and Coventry twice.

Most recently he has been assistant boss at New Zealand side Hawke's Bay United where his son, ex-Bull Jonathan, is manager.

Meanwhile another former Bull is on the move. Robbie King, who played five times in midfield for the Bulls on loan from Colchester in 2006, has quit Heybridge Swifts after - what the club claim - they refused him a transfer to another Ryman Premier side. King refutes that he has had any offers from other sides.
