Stockport have recalled defender Gareth Owen from his loan spell at Port Vale. The 26 year old was expected to complete a permanent deal with the Valiants, but the Hatters are expected to bring him back into the squad with several of their young defenders attracting interest. Leicester have extended the deal of veteran Marc Edworthy until the end of the season.

Tranmere striker Chris Greenacre will miss two months after rupturing a tendon in his foot. Crewe are one of a number of sides interested in Bury striker Andy Bishop after he failed to agree a new deal with the club. Oldham have turned down a number of approaches for winger Chris Taylor. MK Dons midfielder Paul Mitchell has retired after suffering a leg and ankle break two years ago.

Ex-Bull Neil Mackenzie has slammed Port Vale supporters for the "worst atmosphere I have ever known". Mackenzie would have rejected a further stay at Vale Park because of the negativity of the support. Brighton are reported to have offered £50,000 for ex-Bull Joe Anyinsah, according to the Daily Star.

Leyton Orient have signed Spurs winger Charlie Daniels on a free transfer. The 22 year old played 37 times on loan at Brisbane Road last season. Hartlepool are the first club to make a January approach for veteran Dean Windass, who has been told he can leave Hull. Morecambe have refused Cork City permission to approach Sammy McIlroy to be their next manager.
