Pools Target Win On Saturday

Hartlepool are targeting a win on Saturday after failing to get the desired win over Yeovil last weekend.

Midfielder Anthony Sweeney told the local press: "One point on Saturday means the bare minimum. We need a win at Hereford. Four points is still not good enough. But that's the maximum amount we can get now.

"To be honest with you, before the Yeovil game, we were looking at six points from the next two games to set us right up there for Christmas. I think the squad is a bit thin. We are missing big players like Browny (James Brown) who have won games on their own at times. He is a big player to miss. We are down to the bare bones and sometimes you have got to take a 0-0.

"But there are others like Ben (Clark) and Jamie McCunnie who were ill and hadn't trained all week. They came in on Friday but they were no good and were never going to do themselves justice on the pitch."

Both Clark and McCunnie will play in a reserve match against Sheff Utd this afternoon after recovering from flu and expect to be added to the first team squad that will travel to Edgar Street.
