Media Hushed On Pub Incident

The hottest topic of conversation surrounding the Bulls over the past week has barely been touched by the local media since publicans placed their ban on the squad and individual players.

Both BBC Hereford and Worcester and the Hereford Times approached West Mercia Police following reports of an incident, with the BBC and the Western Daily Press covering the item on Tuesday. However since the bans have been issued there has been no mention of the incident on the radio or in any of the printed press, even coverage of Turner's official statement - which noted he had spoken to 'certain newspapers' - issued on Thursday has been non-existant.

Wednesday's Hereford Journal failed to mention the item - though it would have probably been too late after only being initially covered on the Tuesday - and Thursday's Hereford Times carried no mention of the incident, while the Western Daily Press's match preview on Saturday morning also avoided the issue. The BBC have opted not to continue coverage since their Tuesday piece with their usual Friday interview with Graham Turner also missing from their coverage this week.

The BBC only made the slightest hint towards the incident during Saturday's coverage with commentator Keith Hall remarking after reading out the team sheet: "No place for Clint Easton or Moses Ashikodi. And you can read into that whatever you like" after both players were named by several sources as being the centre of debate. Hall has also opted to keep reports of the incident away from his Vital Hereford website.
