To date this season League One gates are down by 6.8%. Of the 24 teams in the division just 6 have seen an increase whereas the other 18 have all seen fewer supporters through the turnstiles.
Hereford United's gates have dropped by 3.7% but that figure is less than the average drop.
However with recession biting harder the outlook for gates isn't rosy. Whilst it is usual that clubs tend to have some of their best attendances of the season around the Christmas/New Year period and this might still may the case this year, come mid-January gates could drop further than usual.
"We do have some attractive games to look forward to over the holiday period, particularly the visit of Leeds United on January 3," commented Graham Turner.
That game could attract the highest gate of the season which won't be difficult as currently it is only 4061 - the attendance when Swindon visited Edgar Street albeit on a Friday evening.
Overall Huddersfield's gates have gone up by the highest percentage - 36%, whilst Walsall's have dropped by the lowest percentage - 21%.
