Today's opponents Huddersfield have reported another significant financial loss on last season's trading.
The season saw turnover increase to £4.63million and losses of £735,000. Turnover increased by £600,000, and the loss decreased by £300,000, from the previous season largely due to a good FA Cup run. The wage bill was £1.9million, up from £1.64m the previous season. Chairman Ken Davy and board member Dean Hoyle are to continue to finance the losses at the club for at least the next two seasons as the Terriers look to establish themselves as a Championship club.
The loss is likely to increase during the current season due to their initiative on £100 season tickets for adults during their centenary year. While 16,500 tickets have been issued the average attendance is less than 13,000 - only 3,500 over last season's average with only around a third of the gate income.
The Terriers have also announced that former Newcastle coach Terry McDermott has joined their coaching staff.
