Forget Easton Incident says Ainsworth

Lionel Ainsworth, Hereford United's on-loan winger from Watford, has told the Hereford Times that he hopes supporters will get behind the team. His call comes after some sections of the crowd booed Clint Easton when he came on as a sub last Saturday at Edgar Street.

“I am hoping there will be a line drawn under it now,” said Ainsworth.

“Sometimes things happen and footballers are human and no different to anyone else. The focus needs to be keeping the club in League 1 and then trying to remain in this division for a few years.

“The club could then try to give the fans Championship football - and there’s no reason why this can’t be achieved.”
