Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope expects a new face to be in their line-up by the time the Bulls visit the Memorial Stadium at the weekend.
Speaking to their official site, Trollope was guarded as to who the new person would be: "Yes there is a chance of a new face coming in time for the weekend, but I'm not at liberty to say much more than that at the moment."
"We are hoping to have one coming in by Thursday or Friday, as we continue to look to strengthen and shape the squad as we go on. It's well known that we don't want to sign seven or eight players in one go, we're happy to bring them in one at a time so it's a gradual process, and if we do get one more before the end of August then that represents another step towards where we want to be.
"Sometimes it's frustrating that you can't always get what you want straight away, but hopefully this week will see us add another piece to the jigsaw."
The Pirates have been linked to free agent forward Wayne Andrews, who remains sidelined through long term injury, and Bournemouth's want-away striker Jo Kuffour. They already have a trio of strikers who cost the club six-figures each, including ex-Bull Andy Williams, but have loaned out most of their other forward options to lower division sides.
