News Round Up

We can't have been that bad if the Team of the Week is to be believed, with Leyton Orient goalkeeper Glenn Morris named in the first award of the season alongside two each from Leeds, Carlisle, and Stockport. Ex-Bull Lee Collins is honoured in the League Two side for his debut with Port Vale.

Leeds have confirmed the non-contract signing of former Scotland international Paul Telfer. The 37 year old spent the second half of last season at Bournemouth after being released by Celtic. Crewe are to give a trial to Nigerian defender Bobsam Elejinko. The Belgium based man turned down a deal at Gillingham last week.

MK Dons are to sign Canadian international striker Ali Gerba. The Cameroon born forward was a prolific scorer in the Canadian leagues but has had limited success in stints in four different European countries. The Sun produced the results of a survey into the most liked and hated clubs which, unsurprisingly, placed Leeds as the most hated with Millwall and Scunthorpe also in the top ten. Oddly Morecambe were the most liked, while Brighton came in fifth.

Yeovil have signed released Reading defender Aaron Brown on a week to week deal. The 25 year old played against the Bulls for previous club Tamworth before a dream move to the Royals, but he never made a first team appearance in three seasons. Bristol Rovers have extended defender Danny Coles' deal for another two years on the back of interest from Plymouth.

Scunthorpe have signed Huddersfield defender David Mirfin for £150,000 on a three year deal. He has spent his entire career at the Galpharm Stadium, making over 170 appearances. Swindon have made a bid for Eastleigh winger Mark Marshall. The 21 year old is also interesting Bournemouth.
