Tamika Mkandawire is looking forward to Saturday when Hereford United visit Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium. The former Bulls' captain is now fully fit again after injury.
"I feel good now - I've been training since that game (Stevenage last Saturday) and I'm ready for the start of the season now," Mkandawire told the Official Leyton Orient Website.
"Psychologically, you need to have put in a 90-minute shift during pre-season, just to know you can get through it. My groin feels fine and I can't wait to start back again.
"Having played for Hereford for three years, this was obviously one of the first fixtures I looked for, so I had a little chuckle to myself when I found out it was the first game.
"I'm looking forward to it and I've been speaking to a couple of their lads this week, trying to get a bit of info out of them - but they haven't been giving anything away!
"Quite a few of the players I was with at Hereford left when I left, but I still know some of the lads so it'll be interesting to play against them."
Meanwhile Orient's manager Martin Ling has been telling his local press about preparations for the visit of Hereford United.
"Everyone is ready, the fitness levels are there and to have 20 of the 22 players available is not bad. In the past week Tamika Mkandawire has played a game- and-a-half and we have got 110 minutes of football into Alton Thelwell, which is more than we expected.
"We have been back for five weeks and it's been a long slog, like pre-season always is. It gets to the stage when it becomes a bind, but we're at a stage now where the players and staff are raring to go."
