Gasheads confident they can defeat Bulls

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope has been looking forward to the visit of Hereford United to the Memorial Ground tomorrow.

"It's a game we're looking to win, it's a game we're confident we can win, and it's a game we've got to make sure we do win," said Trollope in an interview on Rovers official website.

"Sometimes the opposition dictates what you can and can't do at times, but we are at home this week and the onus is on us to go out and play, and we will do that. We want to pass the ball quickly, play with width, and try to hurt Hereford with our strengths.

"Graham is a good manager, he's taken them up through two divisions, and they have some very good players.

"They are a settled club with a settled way of playing, which is good for them in terms of momentum, given the recent success they've had.

"They will be disappointed to have lost their opening two league games, and this weekend they will be looking to take the points.

"But we're looking for our first win of the season, and we will have no negative thoughts at all. It's about us producing the standard of football we know we can, and going out and winning the game.

"We're ready for them. We know they will be organised and will try to pass the ball, but it's up to us to make sure we impose our game.

"We've got to pass the ball well on a good surface, and make sure we defend right, and take our chances when they come along."

Meanwhile Jo Kuffour is unlikely to feature for Rovers even if he is signed from Bournemouth in time. He is said to be suffering from flu.

Finally Luke Webb, the young Hereford United mid-fielder, is reported to have suffered a recurrance of the injury who has kept him out of first team action for several months.
