John Williams and Trevor Benjamin are both journeymen who have spent time at Edgar Street.
Williams, often called the flying postman, has been with around 20 clubs, including some non-league sides, whilst Benjamin is currently looking for his seventeen or so club.
Whether Benjamin will still be playing at 40 remains to be seen, but Williams is now plying his trade at Boldmere St Michaels. And he hasn't lost his knack at getting on the scoresheet just yet as he recently scored a hat-trick against Shifnal Town.
Williams signed for Hereford United in early 1997 and made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Cardiff City. In his eleven games for the club he scored three goals but it wasn't enough to keep the Bulls in the Football League. He moved on at the end of that season not wanting to play Conference football.
He started his career at Cradley Town but soon moved to Swansea.
It's said he's had more clubs than golfer Jack Nicklaus as after Swansea he moved to Coventry City, Wycombe Wanderers, Hereford United, Walsall, Exeter City, Cardiff City, York City, Darlington, Swansea City (again), Notts County, Stoke City and Kidderminster Harriers.
And that was before he moved into non-league at Bath City, Redditch United, Evesham United, Weston Super Mare, Stourbridge and Willenhall Town before finally arriving at Boldmere.
The last time he was seen at Edgar Street was in an invitation Herefordshire Cup Final when he was playing for Swansea.
Interviewed for the Sunday Mercury, Williams has been talking about his time in football.
"I can’t complain, I’ve had a good career.
"Someone once said to me, that the amount of clubs I’ve played for looks more like a league table!
"I know I’ve been with quite a number of clubs, but I would have quite happily spent all my career with Coventry City, given the chance."
Today Williams seems happy knowing that younger players remember him
"I was playing for Boldmere’s reserves against a side in Worcester this pre-season when one of their players races up to me and shouts ‘I’m the flying postman now’.
"I had to smile!"
