Bristol Rovers will sell Hereford United supporters tickets at the gate next Saturday.
The change of plan has come, it is thought, because sales for the game have been slow.
The revised arrangments could mean that a few more Hereford United fans might travel to the game.
However, according to Bristol Rovers, tickets will cost £2 more on the day than the early bird price.
Meanwhile it looks as though fuel prices are starting to rise again which may have an effect on travelling support to away matches.
Diesel has been available as low as 119.9p/litre but wholesale increases are expected to push up the pump price by at least 2p/litre in the next few days.
