News Round Up

Chesterfield are to sign veteran defender Robert Page from Huddersfield after new boss Stan Ternent dithered on a new deal. The Spireites will lose striker Steve Fletcher after he rejected a new deal to find somewhere closer to his Bournemouth home. Walsall have released midfielder Darren Wrack after his testimonial season. He played over 350 games for the club, including over 40 this season.

Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson will consider offers for any of his players as he looks to rebuild next season: "If anyone wants to come in and take any of our players away then I would consider it." Millwall have axed four players so far, including former England u-21 keeper Chris Day.

Chester are, wait for it, challenging for promotion next season! They won just three of their last 28 games, but owner Stephen Vaughan is already expecting boss Simon Davies to have them ready for a tilt. Fans have greeted the upbeat message with their usual derision and laughter. Wrexham have ten players out of contract this summer that they are to make offers to. The list includes Bulls' target Matty Done and Welsh internationals Steve Evans and Chris Llewellyn.

Leicester could be changes all over in League One, with chairman Milan Mandaric not even sure he'll be in control next season. He has spent £13million in 15 months at the club propping up the wage structure and boss Ian Holloway doesn't know if he'll be in charge after just nine wins from 32 games.
