Ahead of Saturday's game, former Premiership ref - and self-appointed North East footballing expert - Jeff Winter has been bashing Darlington fans on his website.
In a lengthy article, which plugs just about every media venture Winter is currently associated with, the Quakers fan questions the level of genuine support that the club can expect: "I am sorry but anything less than 5,000 this weekend is an admission that the people of the area do not care about the club.
"As usual, every Saturday before a home game I have a pair of match tickets to give away. I am inundated with competition entries from Hartlepool and Boro fans but for the Bradford game no Darlo fans entered. Also, I had only four entrants for this week’s game against Hereford!!"
Winter hosts a football phone-in show for TFM, the sponsors of the Darlington Arena, and is expected to be at the game on Saturday. The full article can be read on his website.
