With Hereford United taking a point at MK Dons on Tuesday evening the race for the third automatic place continues with the next 'round' on Saturday when the Football League computer has come up with two great fixtures - Hereford United (3rd) vs Peterborough (2nd) and Stockport County (4th) vs MK Dons (1st).
Here are the remaining fixtures for Hereford: Peterborough (h), Wrexham (h), Brentford (a) and Grimsby (h).
Stockport's fixtures are: MK Dons (h), Barnet (a), Chester (a), Brentford (h).
Below the updated Bulls News Potential Points Table:
1 Milton Keynes Dons 43 43 90...PP 99
2 Peterborough 43 39 86...PP 95
3 Hereford 42 25 79...PP 91
4 Stockport 42 19 78...PP 90
5 Rochdale 43 22 75...PP 84
6 Darlington 43 26 74...PP 83
7 Wycombe 43 13 72...PP 82
8 Chesterfield 43 21 67...PP 76
Stockport probably have an easier task than Hereford United on Saturday. The pitch at Edgeley Park has cut up quite badly and this could hinder the type of football MK Dons play. On the other hand the Dons still need at least a point to be sure of automatic promotion.
Peterborough also need a win to be sure of automatic promotion this Saturday and that will only happen if Stockport draw or lose and the Posh do better - in other words increase the points gap between them and the Hatters.
As regards Hereford they need to keep on taking points whenever possible. A win over Peterborough would be ideal, but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world as long as Stockport do not win.
All may become clearer at 5pm on Saturday and there again it may not. The race for the third automatic promotion place to League One could continue until the last day of the season.
Plenty to play for.
