The Bulls open their "Week of Death" with a trip to the Darlington Arena looking to do the double over the Quakers.
A 5-1 demolition at Edgar Street in November doubled the amount of goals the Quakers had conceded in the 13 games so far that season. It was the Bulls' first win since February 1994, when a Chris Pike double followed a Derek Hall opener to seal a 3-1 win at the old Feethams ground.
Darlington will go into the game on their worst run of the season, with just two points earned from the last fifteen. Injuries have blighted their run-in form, with their forward line being made up of whoever is fit enough rather than the form players. Two strikers have left the club with their seasons over, while five others are struggling for fitness for Saturday. Only Tommy Wright, currently labouring under a hip problem, has made it into double figures for goals this season with 14 goals from 41 appearances with eight other strikers acting as his partner up front.
The Bulls' latest recruit Sammy Igoe is the 25th player to see League action for the Bulls this season, with the Quakers using 37 so far. Little was wrong with the Bulls' first half performance against Chester, but the second half left a lot to be desired and a full 90 minutes of commitment will be needed against the Quakers. The welcome return of Steve Guinan to fitness will have sharpened his senses prior to the trio of big games, forming a useful looking partnership with the similarly hard working Gary Hooper.
Darlington vs Hereford United, The Darlington Arena, Saturday 12th April, 3.00pm.
