Mansfield's takeover twists again. A claimed meeting, by John Batchelor, on Monday to sign a deal on the club will not take place as there has been no firm offer for the club, while Batchelor left the ground midway through the first half of yesterday's match after being barracked by Stags fans. He was forced to pay through the turnstiles after being refused entry to the boardroom.
More grumblings in the Conference over the Setanta deal. Their last day fixtures, on April 26th, will all kick off at 5.15pm after the Satellite broadcaster confirmed it wanted to show one of the games live. The league's rules state that all games on the final day must start at the same time. Crawley have confirmed that one of their new owners is Steve Evans' father in law.
Wrexham will keep their infrastructure if/when they are eventually relegated. Chairman Neville Dickens vowed to keep the club full time, and leave the successful youth policy untouched. Most of the club's prized assets, including Welsh internationals Steve Evans, Chris Llewellyn, and Mark Jones are out of contract in the summer and are expected to leave.
