Darlington midfielder Micky Cummins has told the Northern Echo that their confidence has been dented by their recent poor form.
"We've only won one in eight and we're in a bit of a rut so we've got to pick ourselves up.
"The gaffer picks his XI and we've got go out there and perform and get some results.
"There is a difference in the changing room now compared with three or four months ago when we were winning 4-0 at Lincoln and 4-0 at Grimsby and battling and working for each other.
"At times we seem to be a team of individuals and the togetherness isn't there.
"I wouldn't say we're hiding, but confidence isn't there. The ball will be coming towards you and you might be thinking 'I don't want it'.
"We've got a lot of experience in the team and we should be helping the young lads.
"The gaffer looks to us, the experienced players, and maybe we've let him down."
Darlington play Hereford United on Saturday. The result of this game will be eagerly awaited by both sets of fans.
