John Batchelor, the so-called possible purchaser of Mansfield Town, was taken out of the away end of Macclesfield's stadium by police and stewards this afternoon.
The incident occured during the first half of the game and was filmed by a supporter with a mobile phone. Fans had directed loud chants at Batchelor until police and stewards moved him into the home area.
"I couldn't get into the ground through any other means. I was quite prepared to pay for a hospitality ticket, but was refused," Batchelor told the Chad Newspaper.
"What else was I supposed to do? I am trying to buy this football club and so I wanted to watch what is happening on the pitch.
"I didn't feel particularly threatened and when fans chanted against me, I said they should be directing their concentration towards the players and leave protests about me until half-time and full-time.
"But the police said it was becoming a problem and decided to step in."
