The following article first appeared on the Official Website. We reproduce it in full as we feel it is an excellent idea which needs as much publicity as possible.
The Hereford United Junior Bulls will be revived for 2008/09 season, with potential members being able to join up very soon!
The Junior Bulls Club will be revived next season with the full backing of Hereford United. The club will be managed from the club shop on match days. It will be administered by a committee that will be giving their time free of charge, and with the help and support of everyone at the Hereford United FC.
Although we are launching the Junior Bulls for the 2008/09 season it is expected that membership forms will be available from the club shop at the home game against Bury.
The first 50 applicants processed will each receive a signed football from this season’s squad. The goodie pack will not be available for a few weeks, but should there be any more all ticket games this season Junior Bulls will be guaranteed a ticket. Other concessionary prices will not apply until next season, but they will last for the entire season.
All junior supporters up to the age of 16 will be invited to join, at a cost of £15 each.
This will include most, if not all, of the following:
A welcome pack of goodies (including a Junior Bulls scarf).
Reduced season ticket prices.
Concessionary prices for admission to games for up to the age of 16 (currently age 10).
Members will be invited to bring a friend to a few games each season, free of charge, to attract new members.
Members details will be kept on a private and secure electronic database, allowing us to send out signed birthday cards, give birthday mentions on the club website and also in the match day programmes.
Other excellent incentives for Junior Bulls members will be signed Christmas cards for members, regular newsletters, Junior Bulls competitions and the chance to attend various events including quizzes and stadium tours which will be attended by Bulls players.
There will also be a regular section in the match day programmes and on the official website.
Members will be given a membership card for which we will require 2 passport photos.
In return for all the above Junior Bulls members will be asked to sign a charter, much like many schools and clubs have, agreeing to look after the stadium and promising good behaviour at matches. We also expect to introduce other initiatives to help promote a better atmosphere for youngsters attending games.
There are currently no plans to enter teams into the local junior football leagues, however once the club has been running successfully for a while we may well look into this as a possibility.
For those not able to attend home matches, membership forms will be available after the Bury game in the following ways:
Calling 01981 251 762/07876 077152.
By downloading it from the Official Website.
By writing to Hereford United Junior Bulls, 5 Croft Road, Clehonger, Hereford, HR2 9ST
Or by email from juniorbulls@bullsonline.co.uk.
All money made from the new club will go back into the Junior Bulls’ fund for future events, or will be given to the football club either by sponsorship or as a donation.
Over the next couple of weeks we shall be attempting to achieve as much publicity as possible through the local papers, radio and internet. We intend to have posters produced very shortly which we will request supporters to distribute as much as possible so that we can get as many children involved with the club as we can, they are the clubs future.
We wish to see as many youngsters as possible join up to support the club, in return they will all get the advantages listed above, such as the cheaper admission. This is an exciting time in the clubs existence and we hope to see you all at Edgar Street very soon!
All the best - Stay United!
