Whilst the vast majority of Hereford United supporters were able to watch last nights Cup-tie, a few were unable to get inside Edgar Street as the ground was deemed full.
However in the Main Stand there were a few empty seats.
Knowing that supporters were outside hoping to get in a senior steward was asked why they could not come in.
He explained that each gate had a number of tickets which equated to the number of seats in that part of the ground. Once they had all gone that area was deemed to be full.
What appeared to happen last night was that some fans joined the queue to the Family Stand as the Meadow End queue was longer. Once in the ground they went into the Meadow End instead of taking a seat in the Family Stand. So there were some empty seats in that part of the ground.
In the circumstances a little leeway from the club might have allowed a few more fans into the ground but the stewards can't be blamed as they have to keep to the rules they are given.
Meanwhile the Hereford Times has reported just two arrests last night close to Edgar Street. One 14 year-old from Tranmere was arrested and was still in custody earlier this morning.
A 29 year old from Hereford was given a fixed penalty notice for using foul and abusive language to a Police Officer.
