The Bulls entertain Tranmere in a FA Cup Third Round replay on Wednesday.
The winners will entertain Cardiff City in the Fourth Round at the end of the month, and take home £40,000 in prize money. After ten years without a match between the two sides, this is the second meeting in two weeks following the entertaining draw at Prenton Park.
The Bulls will be waiting on news on the fitness of Clint Easton, who has now missed three games with a tendonitis problem, but will welcome back Toumani Diagouraga from suspension. Supporters are also hopeful of reinforcements coming in soon during the transfer window. The Bulls have had fourteen different goalscorers this season with Karl Broadhurst and Wayne Brown the only two players, of the eleven to have played the most this season, to not score.
Tranmere hope to have completed a permanent deal for loan defender Andy Taylor prior to Wednesday's game. The Blackburn man was left out as he mulled over a move to Blackpool and is now expected to finalise a permanent deal at Prenton Park after rejecting the Seasiders. They will be cheered on by up to 20 coachloads of supporters, who will be ferried to the game free of charge.
Hereford United vs Tranmere Rovers, Edgar Street, Wednesday 16th January, 7.45pm.
