Graham Turner was, understandably, the happier of the two managers after this afternoon's game at Edgar Street.
"I thought we played little patches of good football and the disappointment was that we didn't score early on. One or two good positions we should have made more of," Turner told the post match press conference as reported on the Official Website.
"In the end it's all come right."
Turner talked about the shouts for penalties.
"I thought it was cast iron the one on Trevor. I think the difficulty for the referee was what he did with the defender because Trevor would have been in a clear shooting position.
"Second one - I thought there was contact, I thought there was a foul but the ball looked as though it was already going out over the line. Be interesting to see on the video.
"We started second half trying to play straight balls but we gave too many balls away. When we got it down and passed it we looked a lot better.
"The important thing is the three points for us. It doesn't matter who the opposition is.
"All we need to do is keep plugging away."
For Shrewsbury Gary Peters spoke to BBC Radio Shropshire: "It's always a tough defeat when you lose to local rivals. We've done quite well in those games usually.
"You can see why Hereford are where they are in the division. They are a very good side and play great football and really caused us problems.
"I think we could have dealt with a few things better. The referee gave them two free kicks in the second half when the wind was right against us and we didn't deal with them.
"One of the goals was an OG and the other the lad took really well. He finished brilliantly and the first goal was a penalty."
Talking about the penalty Peters admitted that the referee might have given a previous shout.
"The one that went before was the one that caused that one. Benjamin went over a leg in the box and maybe that would have been given a lot of the time. He was trying to buy the penalty but I think a lot of people thought it was a penalty and the next one probably wasn't but given. That's swings and roundabouts.
"Two situations like that at an away ground is going to lead to a penalty.
"Hereford they are a really good team and they are very good at falling over as well."
