Tranmere's Steve Jennings has told the Liverpool Daily Post that he is looking forward to meeting several of the players he knew from his time at Edgar Street last season but he hopes they will leave Prenton Park empty-handed.
“This is a big game for us and an even bigger one for me.
“When I see all the Hereford lads I worked with last year, I will shake them by the hand and wish them all the best for the rest of the season – and hope they have a stinker against us.
“We are both after the same thing: the chance of pulling a Premier League club in the next round.”
Jennings made eleven appearances for the Bulls whilst on loan.
“I enjoyed my time down there. Hereford have a lot of good young players who were always ready for a crack and it generated a good team spirit.
“Some of those players have come on well this season and I’m not surprised to see them challenging for promotion.
"Hereford look to play good football, pass and move, and I must admit I was surprised when I first got there about how high the standard was.
“They have a great set-up down there. Graham Turner and his number two John Trewick are 100% football people.
“Graham Turner does everything there, chairman, manager, kit man. He goes as far as trying to cut the grass. He loves being involved with the club day in day out.
“I’ve got a soft spot for Hereford now. Every Saturday when I check the results after our game, I always look to find out how they got on. I would love to see Hereford get promoted – but make no further progress in the FA Cup.”
