You can probably cross Oxford off the list of places to visit next season.
The pre-season favourites have scored only one goal in eight games, and have nosedived down to 14th place after a 2-0 loss to Crawley to be 12 points adrift of a play-off spot. Perennial never-quite's Exeter are, as usual, several points short of the promised land after a 1-0 loss to Torquay thanks to another Tim Sills goal.
Torquay themselves are chasing leaders Aldershot in what appears to be a two horse race for the top spot. The Shots, who hosted 4,728 in today's win over Woking, are five points clear after winning eight of their last ten games. Burton finally appear to be living up the their manager's reputation in third, level on points with a finally capable Cambridge.
Minnows Forest Green and Histon, who both feature part-time players, are also in contention along with Kidderminster, Ebbsfleet, and a resurgent York - another to benefit from a manager sacking.
Down the bottom, relegation favourites Droylsden are inevitably bottom with Stafford - 16 games without a league win - both on ten points. Northwich, who are picking up form under Dino Maamria, have 13 while Altrincham earned their first win in six to move within two points of safety.
