Clive Oliver has been named as the referee for the League Two game at Chester on Friday evening.
He has been the man in black eight times this season to date. Several of those eight games have been in the Championship.
Oliver, who is based in Northumberland, has given out 24 yellow cards which is an average of three per game.
The last time he refereed a game involving Hereford United was at Macclesfield in January. On that day he sent off Andy Ferrell who had handled in the area.
