Chester Overcome Visiting Shrews

Chester City ran out 3-1 winners in today's noon kick-off game at The Saunders Honda Stadium. After a goalless first half, strikes from Partridge, Murphy and Yeo with Moss replying for Shrewsbury saw The Blues through.

The Bulls remain in second place with just one goal difference advantage over third placed Chester. Today's result nicely sets up an early season "six-pointer" against Chester on Friday evening. However, before that The Bulls have a home "Paint Pot" tie against lowly Somwherezet village team Yeovil while Chester face the daunting journey towards the Arctic Circle to face a strong Carlisle outfit recently boyed by the arrival of master tactician John Ward.

Meanwhile just 3057 including 1047 from Shrewsbury watched today's game.
