McIlroy thought defeat was a bitter blow

Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy spoke to his website after the game:

"I thought Hereford had more about them they were disciplined and worked hard. But to lose by three goals in the last 11 minutes was a bitter blow. We have been doing well at 0-0 and that is the wrap on the knuckles we got today. Things have been going really well but its how we respond to todays result.

"We were lacklustre, we weren't firing on all cylinders and I suppose these things do happen.

"Today at 0-0 we have a great chance but it doesn't go in for us and I thought Damien Allen was our best player today. I changed it around in the second half to go more attack minded and brought Stanners off to give Twissy a go and I suppose that decision has backfired today.

"We had no cutting edge all game and there was no supply from the flanks all afternoon which is something we will have to work on. The goals we conceded were poor for the first one at the far post the second summed our afternoon up and the third I was devastated by that to conceded three."
