Hereford United are not the only local club suffering from lower home gates this season. Neighbours Kidderminster Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove was reported to be 'disappointed' with a gate of just 1589 at their last home game.
"I have been wracking my brains about how to attract more fans to games and am not sure what more I can do," Norgrove told the Kidderminster Shuttle.
"I believe that we have done everything in our power to make sure that the club is in good shape.
"We have one of the best grounds in the league and invested heavily in the playing squad.
"Myself and the board have put a lot of money into the club and it can't last forever.
"If we don't start to get over gates of 2,000 at home games then at the end of the season we'll have to put our hands in our pockets once again.
"We get the hardcore supporters who come every home game and they're brilliant, but we need the fans who don't come to games to start attending.
"Everyone here is dedicated to taking the club forward. We have sold all the billboards around the ground, which is the first time in a long time.
"We are doing everything in our power to improve the club and it's up to the fans to support us.
"I don't want to pull out of the club and the only offer I would consider would be from someone with substantial financial power. We need someone like a Russian billionaire but unfortunately you don't get many around Kidderminster."
